About DawaNet Canada
DawaNet is a network of creative individuals and dynamic projects engaged in building bridges of understanding and sharing the message of Islam.
Since its inception in 2000, DawaNethas been prominent on the Canadian Muslim scene due to its vibrant networking model and pioneering projects that empower people and organizations to lead, link, and share.
Objectives: All strategies and projects of DawaNet are determined by one or more of the following objectives:
Community Engagement:
- To create effective networks of communication and media to keep the Muslim community informed and connected
- To positively engage youth and adults, men and women, and people of all faiths and ethnic traditions, in the priorities and challenges of our society
- To organize programs offering families and youth entertainment that is safe, healthy, meaningful, and productive
- To encourage volunteerism in the community
Education & Outreach:
- To share and relate the message of Islam with beauty, wisdom, and respect using both traditional and modern means of communication
- To craft creative, friendly, cultural public events and venues for Muslims and their neighbours to interact and learn
- To develop original publications to educate and inspire readers on issues and challenges that are relevant to their personal life and to the human family today
- To offer courses, workshops, and study circles on Islamic sciences and disciplines in the light of Islamic sources (text) and our environment (context), to develop a healthy Muslim identity and citizenship
- To engage youth in creative outputs for their energies such as arts and sports
Social Welfare:
- To engage in multi-faith and multi-cultural initiatives and form collaborations on humanitarian causes
- To mobilize community to donate to and assist the disadvantaged in local communities
- To influence public opinion about social justice issues through artistic expression and media participation

• MuslimServ: A project of DawaNet that focuses on social work, such as food drives.
• Sharing Islam: Regular booths at major malls across GTA, such as SquareOne.
• Understanding Islam Academy: A unique institute of Islamic education.
