Islam Through the Eyes of Artists

More than anything, MuslimFest is a celebration of the majestic Muslim art and heritage. The International Art Exhibit showcases art and architecture from around the globe, calligraphic art of ancient languages, and historical manuscripts. Artists, local and international, amateur and professional, children and adult, express a vision of their faith and community in their own creative way.

New at MuslimFest 2008 is the work of Calligraphic Graffiti artist, Mohammed Ali Aerosolarabic from the UK. Join us to witness the creation of a 15x8 mural at MuslimFest 2008 influenced by Mohammed's English background and a message of engaging youth positively in the community.

A wonderful group of fifteen artists has submitted over 35 pieces to be showcased. A jury from the Mississauga Arts Council will take a tour of these pieces, and after careful evaluation choose the winning three deserving of the MuslimFest Art Award. Visitors will then vote on their favourite piece deserving of People’s Choice Award.

Please take the time to come and appreciate the truly unique and inspiring pieces on display. The Art Exhibit tent is open from 12 PM – 9 PM. Admission is for all ages, and is FREE!

The MuslimFest 2008 Art Exhibit is made possible by the generous contribution of the Olive Tree Foundation.
