For the first time at MuslimFest, a marriage workshop for those seeking a spouse will take place on Sunday, August 2, 2009, at 2:45 pm in the Staging Room (2nd floor) at the Living Arts Centre.

Organized by our program partner, Islamic Marriage Assistance Program (IMAP), space at this mariage program is very limited and will require an M-Band.

MuslimFest was awarded Festival and Events Ontario Achievement Award for best Virtual campaign. The award recognizes how Ontario festivals use the internet to enhance their festival or event. 

Creative websites, on-line ticket purchases, and e-mail marketing efforts, are just a few of the virtual campaigns MuslimFest 2008 utilized to market the event. 

MuslimFest 2008 was recognized for the “I Love MuslimFest” campaign launched on Facebook in July of last year. 

We thank all of MuslimFest volunteers for their participation.  We also thank the talented photographer Mohammed Hashim (http://www.instin.ca/ ) and the skilled graphic designer Raneem Meknas for helping out with the campaign.

MuslimFest was awarded the 2009 In the Spirit of Khidma Award (ISK) for best Youth Initiative. 

The award is presented by the Reviving the Islamic Spirit in recognition of MuslimFest;s continuous community service excellence and was attended this year by Imam Zaid Shakir.

Thousands gathered under large tents and watched rising and profissional performers of comedy, song, and spoken word as part of MuslimFest 2008 free outdoor community stage!

On Sunday, Hammerson Hall was almost filled to capacity and people enjoyed a show like no other!

"The Olive Tree Foundation is pleased to once again fund these leading edge projects," said Muneeb Nasir, President of the Foundation, in announcing the distribution of grants. "These initiatives are important for the development of the Muslim community."
