MuslimFest 2009 Teams
Having trouble choosing a team? Here is a short description of the MuslimFest 2009 committees to help you with your decision:
Hospitality- Artist Services
This team will enjoy the company of artists and performers and ensure their needs are met. Volunteers will also prepare welcome packages for artists, operate the artist’s room, run errands for artists as well as other administrative duties.
Hospitality - Attendee Relations
is one of the largest teams, they create the first impression of MuslimFest and ensure that all festival guests are satisfied with their experience. The committee distributes Festival Guide magazines, answers questions, gives directions, assists persons with accessibility needs, and makes our guests feel welcome!
Hospitality - Event Security
The safety and security of everyone at MuslimFest is the top priority of the Event Security team. These dedicated brothers and sisters will assist in crowd control and other safety related tasks.
Hospitality - Prayer Services
Ensuring that prayer areas are organized and ready for the general public in a timely manner falls onto the MuslimFest Prayer Services team. Volunteers will help direct attendees and arrange prayer room equipment (microphones, speakers, prayer mats, etc.). Outside of prayer times, Prayer Services Volunteers will have the opportunity to serve in other capacities as well.
Program - Art Exhibit
MuslimFest is likely the most innovative, artistic and captivating events of the summer . Of course this is thanks to the talented support of our artists and Art Exhibit Committee; this team will spend much of their time near all MuslimFest art galleries and assist with questions and concerns from both attendees and artists.
Program - Show Production
The show must go on! MuslimFest Show Production volunteers are your official behind- the-scenes backstage team. They ensure that MuslimFest’s greatest attractions happen smoothly and on time.
Program - Workshop
Workshops are just another one of MuslimFest’s exclusive unique experiences. The Workshop team will spend much of their time assisting Workshop coordinators and instructors with class registration and other administrative tasks.
Program - Film Festival
The Film Festival team will spend much of their time ensuring technical equipment is functioning properly as well as answering questions and concerns from film festival entrants and audience members.
Program – Fun Village
The fun village is an area with rides for all ages of children. It ranges from pony rides to inflatable’s and Muslimfest just would not be complete without a fun village carnival.
Publicity - Media Relations
The media relations team will assist the Publicity Manager in dealing with questions from reporters and other media personal.
Publicity - Marketing
The Marking team will have the opportunity to volunteer prior to and on the days of MuslimFest. Volunteers will have a chance to let their creativity, confidence and charisma shine through spreading the word about MuslimFest through Facebook, poster runs, e-mails, word of mouth, etc. Additional exciting tasks await this team during MuslimFest.
Sponsorship - Bazaar
The bazaar is the busy, fast-paced business district of MuslimFest. Both attendees and vendors will have questions and concerns throughout the day and the knowledgeable bazaar team will be ready to meet their needs. Feel free to shop around while off- duty! The minimum needed volunteers for both Bazaar & Food is 20.
Sponsorship - Food Festival
Food Festival volunteers will have the pleasure of catering to the food related needs of the general public. Much of these tasks will be supported by private business owners; however , valuable MuslimFest staff will aid in these essential efforts as well. The minimum needed volunteers for both Bazaar & Food is 20.
Sponsorship - General Sponsorship
Sponsorship allows MuslimFest to cover its costs as well as promote business in the community. General Sponsorship volunteers will help the Sponsorship Manager communicate with businesses and broker agreements prior to the days of MuslimFest. Additional tasks apply on the event dates at the discretion of the Sponsorship Manager .
Ticket Services
This team helps promote MuslimFest’s sales strategy. The committee will be responsible for selling tickets by receiving orders over the phone and online, selling before the show, and at the event. Also, volunteers will manage online/phone ticket pickups on the day of the festival. and staff the ticket sale locations on Saturday.
Technical Services
If you’re a tech savvy individual, MuslimFest encourages volunteers to kindly offer their valuable skills in this regard. Technical Services will assist in all aspects of the convention including setup, lighting, audio and visual equipment.
Volunteer Services
Do you like meeting new people, managing staff and just having a great time? Volunteer services is a fun and exciting team where volunteers will have a chance to practice their interpersonal skills, meet new people and hang out at the Volunteer Services booth at MuslimFest. They are a small, closely knit group of spirited individuals who are ready to make MuslimFest a summer hit! The minimum needed volunteers for volunteer services is 5.
